Why are there two different Fear & Greed Index values showing?

The plugin tracks data from two independent sources: Alternative.me and CoinMarketCap. Each uses their own methodology to calculate market sentiment, so the values can differ. Both are valid indicators - some traders prefer one over the other, or watch both for confirmation.

How often will I get notifications?

The index is checked every 30 minutes. You'll receive a notification when the market sentiment classification changes (e.g., from "Fear" to "Neutral") on either source. You won't get notifications every 30 minutes - only when something actually changes.

Why did I receive two notifications at the same time?

Each data source (Alternative.me and CoinMarketCap) is tracked separately. If both sources change their classification around the same time, you'll get a notification for each. This is normal when market sentiment shifts significantly.

What's the difference between "notify on change" and the specific sentiment notifications?

"Notify on change" sends you a notification whenever the classification changes to anything different (Fear→Neutral, Neutral→Greed, etc.). Specific sentiment options (like "extreme-fear" or "greed") only notify you when the index changes to that exact classification. Most users keep "notify on change" turned ON and the specific options turned OFF.

Why didn't I get notified even though the index value changed?

Notifications trigger when the classification changes (Extreme Fear, Fear, Neutral, Greed, Extreme Greed), not when the number changes. The value can move from 25 to 30, but both are still "Extreme Fear", so no notification is sent. The classification ranges are: - 0-24: Extreme Fear - 25-44: Fear - 45-55: Neutral - 56-75: Greed - 76-100: Extreme Greed

Why do I only see data from one source instead of two?

Only Alternative.me is available by default. If CoinMarketCap data isn't showing, it means the bot administrator hasn't configured a CoinMarketCap API key yet. The plugin works perfectly fine with just Alternative.me.

Can I choose to only get notifications from one of the sources?

No, notifications are sent when either source changes. Both sources are tracked together to give you a complete picture of market sentiment. If you only want updates from one source, you'd need to ignore notifications mentioning the other.

Can I see more than 30 days of history?

No, the history and charts are limited to the last 30 days. This keeps the data display readable and prevents the charts from becoming too crowded. For long-term analysis, you'll need to use external charting tools.
