The description matcher looks for substring matches. If your task is "buy groceries from store", searching for just "store" might match multiple tasks. Use more specific words or the task ID for reliability.

Can I use the same task ID across different platforms?

No. Task #5 on Discord is completely separate from task #5 on Telegram. Each platform maintains its own task numbering starting from 1.

Why do I need to set up timezone before creating tasks with deadlines?

The plugin must store deadlines in a standardized format (UTC) to calculate reminders correctly. Without knowing your timezone, "tomorrow at 9am" is ambiguous. Set it once with the timezone-manager plugin.

What happens if I create a task with a deadline before setting my timezone?

The task creation fails with a setup message. Complete the timezone setup, then try again. The plugin won't guess your timezone or use a default that might be wrong.

Why does "by tomorrow" sometimes create the wrong deadline?

"Tomorrow" means different things depending on when you say it. If it's 11:30 PM, "tomorrow" might be 30 minutes away or 24 hours away depending on context. Be specific: "by tomorrow at 5pm" is clearer.

Why am I getting reminder messages when I didn't ask for any?

How often will I be reminded about overdue tasks?

Can I create tasks with deadlines but without reminders?

The AI interprets statements about needing to do something as task creation requests. If you're discussing tasks hypothetically, avoid phrasing like "I need to" or "I have to" - use "someone should" or "it would be good if" instead.

Why did the AI create a task when I asked "what tasks do I have"?

This shouldn't happen. If it does, the context was unclear. Try explicit commands: `!task list` guarantees viewing tasks, while `!task add X` guarantees creating one.

The AI misunderstood whether I wanted to list or create a task. How do I avoid this?

Use explicit verbs: "show my tasks", "add task X", "I finished X". Questions (what/which) list tasks. Statements about needing to do something create tasks.

Why can't I change a task's deadline after creating it?

The update command only supports priority and time estimate changes. Delete and recreate the task with the new deadline, or manually edit if you have database access.

What happens to my time estimates - does the plugin track actual time spent?

No. Time estimates are for the suggestion feature ("what can I do in 30 minutes?") only. The plugin doesn't track actual time or compare estimates to reality.

Why doesn't priority affect reminder frequency?

Reminder frequency is purely deadline-based. High priority tasks don't get more reminders - they're just sorted first in lists. Urgency comes from time remaining, not priority level.

Why are my completed tasks still in the database?

Completed tasks enable statistics (weekly/monthly counts, completion rates). You can delete them manually with `!task delete ` if you want them removed permanently.

Can I uncomplete a task I marked done by mistake?

No undo function exists. You'll need to create a new task with the same details. The old completion remains in your statistics.

Why can't I complete a task using its description if it's already marked complete?

Searches for completion only look at pending tasks to avoid confusion. If you need to reference a completed task, use `!task list completed` to find its ID first.

Why does `!task suggest 1h` show tasks with no time estimate?

Tasks without estimates are assumed to fit any available time - they might be quick. Add `estimate=30min` when creating tasks for better suggestions.

Why don't my category filters work?

Categories are optional and must be set explicitly during creation. If you didn't specify a category, the task won't appear in category-filtered lists. Most users don't use categories.

Will my tasks sync between Discord and Telegram?

No. Each platform maintains separate task lists. This is intentional - work tasks on Discord and personal tasks on Telegram can coexist without mixing.

What happens to scheduled reminders if the bot restarts?

Reminders reschedule automatically on startup by checking all task deadlines. You won't miss reminders due to restarts, though the exact timing might shift slightly.

If I delete a task, do past reminders I received get deleted too?
