Why do I need to provide my own Twitch API credentials?

The bot doesn't have built-in Twitch access. You need to create your own free Twitch developer account and generate API credentials (client ID and secret) so the bot can check if streamers are live on your behalf. How to get credentials: 1. Why didn't I get notified again when my streamer is still live?

You only receive one notification per stream session. Once you've been notified that a streamer went live, you won't get another alert for that same stream - even if they're still streaming hours later. You'll get a new notification when they go offline and start their next stream. Check if you already received a notification using `!twitch list` to see when you were last notified.

How often does the bot check if streamers are online?

The bot checks every 5 minutes. There may be a delay of up to 5 minutes between when a streamer goes live and when you receive your notification.

Can I track streamers without setting up credentials first?

No. The `!twitch track` command requires you to set up your Twitch API credentials first using `!twitch setup`. Without credentials, the bot cannot access Twitch's data to check stream status.

Why does it say "Could not find a Twitch streamer" when I try to track someone?

Double-check the spelling of the streamer's username. The name must match their exact Twitch username (not their display name). The bot uses Twitch's API to verify the streamer exists before adding them to your tracking list.

What happens to my tracked streamers if I remove my credentials?

When you use `!twitch remove`, all your tracked streamers are deleted along with your credentials. You'll need to track them again if you set up new credentials later.

Will I get notified if a streamer is already live when I start tracking them?

Yes! If you track a streamer who is already live, you'll receive a notification within 5 minutes (the next time the bot checks). After that, you won't be notified again until they end this stream and start a new one.

Why do I keep getting "You need to set up your Twitch API credentials" after I already did setup?

Your credentials may be invalid or expired. Use `!twitch verify` to check if your credentials are working. If they're invalid, use `!twitch setup` again with fresh credentials from your Twitch developer console.

Can I turn off notifications temporarily without untracking streamers?

The bot tracks streamers at a system level - you cannot pause notifications without untracking. To stop notifications, use `!twitch untrack ` for each streamer. You can track them again later with `!twitch track`.

How do I see which streamers I'm currently tracking?

Use `!twitch list` to see all streamers you're tracking, when you were last notified about them, and their Twitch channel links.
